1918 Execution of 26 Baku commissars
One hundred years ago, on September 20, 1918, 26 Baku commissars were executed on the 207th verst of the railway from Krasnovodsk to Ashgabat. Among them were such prominent Bolsheviks as the head of the Baku Council of People's Commissars Stepan Shaumyan, chairman of the Council of National Economy Ivan Fioletov, commander of a special detachment Grigory Petrov, chairman of the Baku Council Prokofy Japaridze, provincial commissar Meshadi Azizbekov.
