1943 Expulsion of the Germans from Kyiv
75 years ago, on November 6, 1943, the troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front under the command of Army General Nikolai Vatutin expelled the Germans from the capital of Ukraine during the Kiev offensive. They tried to take Kyiv by all means by the next anniversary of the October Revolution, which led to additional casualties.
