70 years ago, on November 12, 1948, the trial of the main Japanese war criminals ended in Tokyo. The International Military Tribunal for the Far East, which consisted of representatives of the USSR, the USA, China, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, France, the Netherlands, New Zealand, India and the Philippines, sentenced 7 defendants, including former Minister of War Hideki Tojo, to death, and also 17 defendants - to imprisonment for terms ranging from 7 years to life.
