Environmentalists have worried about the state of forests near Moscow.
Greenpeace Russia sends volunteer patrols to examine the forests of the Moscow Region. During the first reconnaissance raid, the Greenpeisers discovered unauthorized landfills and sites where summer residents dug young trees. On weekends, September 5 and 6, 10 Greenpeace Russia volunteers, dividing into three groups, went to the forests to the north and east of Moscow. They visited the area of Iksha, Marfin, Noginsk, Pavlovsky Posad, as well as in the Dmitrovsky district.
