Over the past two weeks, Mediazona and the BBC have managed to identify more than 1,300 new names of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine. In total, at least 17,375 people were killed in the war
The BBC Russian Service, Mediazona and a team of volunteers have identified 1,304 servicemen who died in Ukraine over the past two weeks. This is higher than last year's average, when a maximum of 300 soldiers were reported dead each week. So, by mid-March, according to open sources, journalists managed to confirm the death of 17,375 Russian soldiers. A third of these losses are volunteers, mobilized, as well as prisoners and fighters of the PMC Wagner.
