American complains of abuse and attempted poisoning in Russian prison
Former US Marine Robert Gilman, convicted in Russia of using violence against a police officer, spoke about bullying by employees of a Voronezh penal colony and an alleged attempt at poisoning. This was reported by the Vesti Voronezh Telegram channel. According to the man, the prison staff take his clothes, prevent him from sleeping, demand that he squat and beat him. Gilman said that such behavior by the prison staff forces him to defend himself, which is why the man regularly starts fights.
