Comedian Turns Her Period Into a Stand-Up Show
Comedian Bella Humphries has made periods the theme of her Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut after being diagnosed with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), the BBC has learned . PMDD is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome, characterized by mood swings, depression, anxiety, swelling and severe pain. The BBC notes that, according to statistics in the UK, 8% of women are diagnosed with this condition.
