42-year-old Kirill Zhirikhin was one of the leading engineers in the Russian aircraft industry: he worked on projects for domestic aircraft MC-21 and Sukhoi Superjet, and also participated in an international project to create a hypersonic passenger airliner. But working with foreigners in modern Russia turned out to be dangerous - the special services saw treason there, and Zhirikhin decided to leave his homeland.
