In the North Caucasus there are few independent media. In 2011, in the commentary of Gazeta.ru, a member of the Moscow Center of Carnegie, Alexei Malashenko, said about the Chernivik publication: “This is the most popular Dagestan newspaper, and when they talked about the independent press in Dagestan, they meant it.” On the morning of the second of October, they came to the publication with a search as part of a criminal case against one of the editors of the “draft”.
