An Arkhangelsk lawyer sentenced to two years in prison for biting a policeman began a hunger strike.
Lawyer Andrei Krekov from Arkhangelsk went on a hunger strike as a sign of disagreement with the sentence handed down to him on charges of biting a policeman, his wife, Victoria Krekova, told Mediazona, citing a lawyer. Krekov started his hunger strike two days ago, on July 27. A week ago, on July 22, the court sentenced 34-year-old Krekov, accused under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code (violence against a government official), to two years and eight months in a general regime colony.
