In Latvia, the Dozhd TV channel was fined 10 thousand euros because of a map with Crimea as part of Russia and the words “our army” regarding Russian troops
The Latvian National Council for Electronic Media ( NEPLP ) fined the Dozhd TV channel 10 thousand euros because of the map shown on air, where Crimea is marked as Russian, and the words “our army” in relation to the Russian army. This was announced Chairman by NEPLP Ivars Abolins on Twitter. As Abolins noted, this is the second violation on the part of the TV channel. If there are three “serious violations,” the council has the right to revoke Dozhd’s license to broadcast in Latvia.
