Russia appeals payment of $50 billion to former Yukos shareholders
On January 28, Russia appealed against decisions to pay $50 billion to former Yukos shareholders. As stated in the message of the Ministry of Finance, three petitions have been filed with the District Court of The Hague. The petitions note that the July decision of the International Arbitration Court in The Hague in favor of former Yukos shareholders contradicts decisions made by independent chambers of the European Court of Human Rights.
