Boeing has chosen a name for the new spacecraft
Boeing has chosen a name for a new manned spacecraft it is developing for commercial orbital launches. The ship was named Starliner ("Star Liner"). Until now, it was known under the designation CST-100 (Crew Space Transportation - manned space transport). Boeing is developing the Starliner as part of NASA's privately owned manned spacecraft program. The agency has awarded Boeing a $4.2 billion contract. Under the terms of the contract, the ship should be built by 2017.
