Thick penguins forced to walk along a treadmill for science
Photo: Brian Gratwicke / Flickr (CC by 2.0) Royal penguins swim well, but walk badly on land. However, every summer they are forced to get out to Earth to remove offspring. There, there are nothing to eat penguins, so they eat up in advance, get fat, and starve during their stay. Biologist Astrid Villenger, along with colleagues, decided to study how the pingvine gait changes depending on the weight.
