In Russia, two million debtors are not allowed to travel abroad
Almost two million citizens of the Russian Federation were banned from traveling abroad due to debts as of June 1, 2016. This is reported by RBC with reference to the microfinance company E Zayom, which is based on data from the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP). Of the 392,000 people who were banned from leaving due to debts from January to May 2016, 157,000 have debts on loans and borrowings. According to RBC, this is 80 percent more than in the same period in 2015.
