The founder of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, Alexei Navalny, a suspect in a libel case, refused to testify in a confrontation with the editor-in-chief of the Ekho Moskvy website Vitaly Ruvinsky. Ruvinsky reported this on the radio station. Navalny’s lawyer Vadim Kobzev explained to Interfax that he considers the confrontation illegal. “Alexey Navalny has not yet given any testimony on the merits of the case and, thus, they cannot contradict anyone’s testimony,” he said.
