In Malawi, an HIV-positive participant in deflowering rituals was jailed for two years
In Malawi, a court sentenced 45-year-old Erik Aniva to two years in prison, who, in his own words, had sex with widows and deflowered underage girls, while being a carrier of HIV, as part of a traditional purification ritual for money. According to AFP, Aniva was charged with two counts of having sex with widowed women because none of the girls he took their virginity testified against him.
