UNESCO has declared the old city of Hebron a Palestinian monument. Israel cuts UN contributions
On July 7, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee announced the inclusion of the old city of Hebron (a city in the West Bank of the Jordan) on the World Heritage and World Heritage in Danger lists. In the message , the monument where the so-called Cave of the Patriarchs (the biblical burial place of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rebekah and Leah) is located is listed as belonging to Palestine.
