A Russian citizen who was injured in an attack on a hotel in Hurghada on July 14 put up "the most active resistance to the criminal," Artem Polyakov, Russian charge d'affaires in Egypt, told TASS. According to him, the woman "fought off the knife, so the largest number of wounds she had on her arm." The attacker “did not expect such a rebuff from the Russian woman and switched to other tourists,” the diplomat said. Now the woman, according to him, is in Cairo for treatment.
