The search for missing miners has stopped at the Mir mine
In Yakutia, a search and rescue operation was stopped at the Mir diamond mine, where eight miners disappeared during the accident. This was reported by the Alrosa company, which owns the mine. The company said in a statement that by the morning of August 26, more than 37,000 cubic meters of water had accumulated in the quarry bowl. Due to the threat of its uncontrolled descent and the destruction of mine workings, it is impossible to continue working underground, the company claims.
