A court in Saratov ruled to pay 150,000 rubles to local journalist Sergei Vilkov, who was acquitted in a criminal case of slandering United Russia regional Duma deputy Sergei Kurikhin. As Vilkov himself told Mediazona, he asked for compensation of 2 million rubles, since, as part of the criminal case, he was under house arrest for 25 months, he underwent three searches, and legal proceedings with Kurikhin lasted more than a year.
