Australia will limit cash payments from 2019
The Australian government has announced a limit on cash payments. From July 1, 2019, purchases of goods and services over A$10,000 ($7,500) can only be paid by check or bank card, Gizmodo reports. Australia's Chief Treasurer Scott Morrison said the measure should boost tax collection in the country. “This is bad news for criminal gangs, terrorists and those who are trying to cheat on taxes,” he said, presenting the 2018-2019 budget to parliament.
