In Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia, there were explosions in three Catholic churches. 11 people were killed, more than 40 were injured. The explosions were carried out by suicide bombers, later the police said that they were all from the same family. In one of the churches, a woman with two children aged 9 and 12 blew herself up; in two others, her husband and two teenage sons were set off by explosive devices.
