State Duma Committee Approves Provision on Tax on Interest on Deposits Over One Million Rubles
The State Duma Budget Committee recommended adopting in the second reading the norm on introducing taxation on interest on deposits and savings accounts exceeding one million rubles . This was reported by TASS. According to the draft law, only ruble deposits with a rate of no more than 1%, as well as interest on escrow accounts, will not be taxed. Income from interest on foreign currency deposits will be converted into rubles on the date of their actual receipt.
