One of the richest businessmen in Russia, the head of Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Potanin, opposed proposals to confiscate the assets of foreign companies leaving the Russian market due to the war in Ukraine. His statement was circulated by the press service of Norilsk Nickel in a telegram. This will take us back a hundred years, to 1917, and the consequences of such a move - global distrust of Russia on the part of investors - we will experience for many decades.
