Journalists confirmed the death of almost 20.5 thousand Russian soldiers in Ukraine
The BBC Russian Service and Mediazona, together with a team of volunteers, have identified 20,451 Russian servicemen who died during the all-out war in Ukraine. Over the past two weeks, journalists have identified the names of 1,820 dead, which, according to the BBC, is the largest figure in the entire war. A third of the nearly 20,500 dead are those who were not associated with the army before the invasion began - volunteers, conscripts, prisoners and newly recruited PMC mercenaries.
