The United States, during a “pre-dawn operation,” detained another tanker of the sanctioned “shadow fleet” in the Caribbean Sea, the Southern Command of the American Army reported. According to the military, the tanker, named Sophia, “has no state ownership,” was in international waters and was engaged in illegal activities. The US Coast Guard is escorting the tanker to make a final decision on its fate. According to Reuters sources, the ship was flying a Panamanian flag.
