Putin named former German Chancellor Schröder as his “preferred negotiator” on Ukraine. The German government rejected this proposal
The German government rejected Vladimir Putin's proposal that former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder act as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine, Reuters , Süddeutsche Zeitung , Spiegel and other German media reported, citing sources. According to the publications' interlocutors, this does not look credible, since Russia has not changed any of its conditions. The first test of reliability could be Moscow's willingness to extend the three-day truce, the sources added.
