Unique diamonds may be auctioned at Sotheby▓s to help flood victims
The Russian diamond monopolist, the ALROSA company, plans to organize the sale of a batch of unique registered diamonds belonging to it at a large Western auction in order to use the proceeds to help those affected by the flood in Yakutia, a representative of the company's management told Interfax. “We propose that this should not just be exported, say, to the De Beers corporation, but sold on an auction basis, for example, at Sotheby▓s,” he noted.
