Growth in the main sectors of the Russian economy since the beginning of the year amounted to 5.7%
The production of products and services in five basic sectors of the Russian economy (industry, agriculture, construction, transport, retail trade) in January-September 2001 increased by 5.7% compared to the same period of 2000, the State Statistics Committee of Russia reports. A year ago, this figure reached 10.9%. However, according to the State Statistics Committee, the volume of industrial production in 2001 exceeded the 2000 indicator by 5.2%, and agricultural - by 7.4%.
