Explosion at the Ecuador mine: 7 died, 40 wounded, 20 under the rubble
At least seven miners were killed and 40 were injured in an explosion at a gold mining mine in the south of Ecuador, local authorities reported this. All victims are hospitalized, RIA Novosti reports with reference to AFP. According to the fire service, about 20 more miners are under the rubble, a rescue operation is underway. The explosion, the cause of which could be a short circuit, occurred at the mine in the village of Pontache Enrices 370 kilometers southeast of Kito.
