The largest mobile phone manufacturers supported plans to create a universal charger
By 2012, most new cell phones of various manufacturers can be charged from one universal charger. This, according to the British BBC television and radio corporation , agreed on 17 companies, including Nokia, Motorola, LG, Sony Ericsson and Samsung, at the World Mobile Congress, which is taking place in Barcelona these days. Currently, most manufacturers produce chargers that are compatible only with their own phones. Universal chargers will satisfy the Energy Star 4 energy consumption standard.
