In Chile, Margot Honecker, the widow of the head of the GDR Erich Honecker, died. She was 89 years old, reports on Twitter CNN Chile. Margot has been next to her husband since the 1950s. Erich Honecker headed the socialist single party of Germany (SUPG) in 1971, and in 1976 he became the chairman of the State Council of the GDR. In October 1989, he was removed from all party and state posts, in December expelled from SUPG, TASS reports. The first lady was the Minister of Education in 1963-1989.
