Tens of thousands of women in Switzerland did not go to work on Friday to participate in manifestations against gender inequality in wages, domestic violence and disproportionately low representation in the authorities. The action initiated by the trade unions, called the "Women's strike", was held in Bern, Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne, Basel, Sion, Neuther and other cities. The strike began in the early morning hours.
