Syria terminated an agreement with a Russian company to manage the port of Tartus, where the Russian military base is located.
The new Syrian authorities terminated the agreement with the Russian company Stroytransgaz, which managed the port of Tartus. The director of customs of Tartus province, Riad Judy, spoke about this in an interview with the al-Watan newspaper. “The agreement on investment in the port of Tartus with a Russian company was canceled. All revenues from the port’s activities will be used in the interests of the Syrian state,” Judy said.
