Politician Dmitry Gudkov’s account in the online bank Revolut was unblocked after a “security check”. He reported this to Novaya Gazeta Europe. Gudkov explained that he is still considered a “Politically exposed person” by banks, as he was a former deputy in Russia. In this regard, the banking compliance algorithm (control and risk management systems) automatically adds any publications about it to banking databases. Next, the bank blocks the account and conducts additional checks.
