On April 19, Vladimir Shinkarev, a St. Petersburg artist and writer who stood at the origins of the Mitki art group and became its ideologist and chronicler, passed away. He was 72, in recent years he had suffered greatly, looked bad, had difficulty walking, leaning on a cane, but continued to write and exhibit paintings.
