Last member of Aum Shinrikyo sect sentenced to death in Japan
The Supreme Court of Japan convicted and sentenced to death a former member of the Aum Shinrikyo sect, Seiichi Endo, reports Interfax . This put an end to more than 16 years of investigations and legal proceedings in a high-profile case of a gas attack on the Tokyo subway. Seichi Endo, 51, played a key role in the preparation and organization of the March 20, 1995 gas attack. In 1994, members of the sect sprayed sarin in the city of Matsumoto, then eight people died.
