The scientific vessel Akademik Strakhov returned to Russia after a two-year stay in Sri Lanka.
The research vessel "Akademik Nikolai Strakhov" has arrived in Baltiysk, tomorrow morning it should call at the home port of Kaliningrad. Strakhov has not been in Russia for more than two years. In the summer of 2013, during an expedition to the Indian Ocean, the ship's propeller shaft broke. Initially, the ship was towed to the port of Male in the Maldives, and a few months later - to Colombo (Sri Lanka), where it stood until December 2015.
