NYT: Russia has become the leader in excess mortality during the COVID-19 pandemic
Russia has outpaced the countries of Europe and the United States in terms of excess mortality during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a study by The New York Times. According to the publication, the death rate in Russia in April-December 2020 was 28% higher (362,302 people) than usual. At the same time, according to official data, 57,002 people died from coronavirus during this time.
