On December 1, the ex-head of the Serpukhov district of the Moscow region, Alexander Shestun, who was serving time in a colony, tried to commit suicide after learning that his 89-year-old mother was being evicted from her home. The Investigative Committee conducted an inspection and interviewed the employees of refugee penal colony No. 6 who witnessed the incident. According to their testimony, on the evening of December 1, the former politician actually injured himself.
