In Togliatti, on July 21, a defendant in the “palace case,” Rinat Safin, was sentenced—he was given a suspended sentence of two years and six months. OVD-Info was informed about this by the press service of the Avtozavodsky District Court, which issued the decision. Safin was found guilty under the article on the use of violence against security forces (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, at a protest on January 31, he threw snowballs at police.
