A Jehovah's Witness from Crimea sentenced to six years was transferred to a Volgograd colony
Jehovah's Witness from Crimea, Yuri Gerashchenko, was taken to correctional colony No. 9 in Volgograd, reports the project “Jehovah's Witnesses. Legal situation in Russia". In July 2024, the Krasnogvardeysky District Court of Crimea sentenced Gerashchenko and another believer, father of six children Sergei Parfenovich, to six years probation. In an appeal, the Supreme Court of Crimea replaced the suspended sentences with real ones - now the convicts must serve six years in a colony.
