Migration processes in pre -revolutionary Russia have always had a significant impact on all aspects of the country's life (even regardless of the desire and capabilities of the ruling elite). [1] This article is based on the materials of two anonymous surveys of Chinese migrants - the most massive surveys conducted in the Chinese environment in Russia. The first survey was conducted by us in 1998-1999 (757 people were interviewed in Moscow, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Ussuriysk), the second in 2002 (525 people were interviewed in Moscow, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok). In both cases, the sample was random.
