Outsiders: power, mass and mass media in today's Russia
[*] Already in 1999–2000, individual observers of the socio-political life of Russia spoke about the effect of Dejavu. Over the years, with the narrowing of the space of critical statements about what is happening in the country, the words about the return of power either to Brezhnevsky, or the Stalinist regime were almost a habit. A similar diagnosis seems to me too general, it requires clarification.

Brilliance and poverty of domestic people
Notes of a historian on the fields of political science works The whimsical circumstances of the latest political history once again force society to think about the “eternal questions” about the fate of Russian democracy: will the Russian Federation become a democratic state with a republican form of government? Will a multi -party political system, effective institutions of civil control over the actions of the authorities form in our country?

The territory of the war
For documentary plays, interviews are usually taken on the condition of anonymity. Here the interviewers are not interested in information, but the story of the character. Therefore, the main thing is that a person feels free, said, without fear, and it is sometimes very difficult to talk about himself - because ordinary people do not have special “legends” for the press. After the play “Sober PR”, held on the stage “Theater.

Leisure outside the state: self -organization of hiking tourists
In the second half of the twentieth century, amateur tourist campaigns were very popular among residents of large cities in our country. At first, campaigns were carried out under the auspices of the Turklubs, according to their tickets, sometimes the manager was paid for the passage, after the club was a report; Over the years, tourists became more and more “wild”, that is, they did without any registration.

Buzhskiy Golendars
[*] 80 kilometers from the railway station of my village Zalari in the Irkutsk region there are three small villages of Pikhtinsk, Sredne Pichitinsk and Dagnik, which are often mentioned under the same name-Pichinsk. They are united not only by the general name, but also by the history of the emergence of these settlements, as well as the origin of people living here.

The fate of the bestseller in Russia (Stephen Pinker. Language as instinct)
Stephen Pinker. Language as instinct. M.: Unitanese URSS, 2004. 456 p. The cover of the book by Stephen Pinker, published in Russia in 2004, states: "The World Scientific and Science Bestseller." And this, apparently, corresponds to the truth. In English, the book was first published in 1994 and withstood several reprints. The English cover is decorated with excerpts from laudatory reviews published in the most prestigious magazines and newspapers: “Nature”, “Independent”, “The Times”, etc.

Is there life on Mars, or Independent media in Russian regions
Few people know that if it were not for the publication in “Evening Krasnoturinsk,” a newspaper published in the hometown of Andrei Sychev, a private in his first year of service, mutilated by old-timers, the incident, which became a symbol of army lawlessness in Russia, would probably have been silenced. Andrei's concerned sister contacted the editorial office as soon as she learned about what happened to her brother.

Who and how nurtures civil society in Russia
Democracy will work only where there is civil society. Dot. After Robert Patnam, this thesis became an axiom. Even the creators of facade democracies agree with him, those who conduct civilian forums and create public chambers. It is also undoubted that civil society is not born just like that, in an instant, out of nothing. He needs time to be born and growing up. The axioms are already ending, and with them the unity of views.

“Nakhalovki” Ulan-Ude: Civil Society on the runway
[1] “Nakhalovki”-illegal settlements that arose on the outskirts of the capital of Buryatia in the 90s. It was then, in the context of a difficult socio-economic crisis, which struck the village primarily, rural migrants poured here in search of work and a better life. Especially a lot of them were Buryats. They make up the majority of the current residents of the "impudence".

From the 1930 diaries
[*] April 8. In a row, there are bright, beautiful days. Yesterday I heard the only time a short characteristic sample of the first finch. And what nights! April 9. Photographed spring: snow with summer clouds; Snow in front of our eyes gives rise to water, and summer clouds are in a hurry to affect this muddy water. Cranes are flying. The ants got up and for some reason lie in a thick layer, a dark spot on the sun-illuminated anthill (like bees, when they are cold).
