Autobiography Yukiti Fukuzawa as a reputation resource
In traditional Japan, there was no genre of autobiography. Of course, the Japanese talked about themselves, made instructions to descendants, wrote letters and diaries, from which we learn about their affairs and feelings, but purposefully to narrate their own life throughout its length did not occur to them. And the point here is not at all in the absence of a person in the East, which, even in the 21st century, some Western (and after them and Japanese) cultural scientists are so fond of.
