Gryzlov is ready to consider presidential citizenship amendments
"Yesterday, the President of the Russian Federation has introduced a bill to the State Duma, extending the deadline for obtaining Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure for our compatriots," Boris Gryzlov, chairman of the lower house of the Russian parliament, told parliamentary journalists today. The speaker explained that at present, former citizens of the USSR have the right to simplified reception of Russia if they declare such a desire until January 1, 2006.
