The State Duma adopted the new edition of the Forest Code
The State Duma today adopted on the third, final reading, the new edition of the Forest Code of the Russian Federation. With the necessary 226 votes, 358 deputies spoke in support of the document, against 74, one deputy abstained, RIA Novosti reports. The law establishes federal ownership of the forest fund. One of the main provisions is the norm that "citizens have the right to freely and free to stay in forests for their own needs, to harvest fruits, berries, mushrooms", as well as firewood.
