The UN General Assembly resolution on Syria supported 137 countries
The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution condemning Syrian authorities for bloodshed in the country, the UN press service reports . For the adoption of a document that is advisory in nature, 137 countries voted. Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, Bolivia, Belarus, Zimbabwe, Cuba 2 more countries voted against. Together with Syria, the opponents of the resolution turned out to be 12. Another 17 states abstained. The draft resolution was presented at the UN Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
