New US sanctions brought down the Russian stock market
The Russian stock market was opened by a fall after the introduction of the United States new sanctions against a number of large Russian companies, Interfax reports. In the first minutes of trading, the MICEX index fell by 2.46%, the RTS - by 3.29%. The VTB shares (4.2%), Gazprom (2.8%), Lukoil (3.3%), Norilsk Nickel (1.9%), Sberbank of Russia (3.4%) and a number of other companies that apply to American sanctions were also fired.
